Audacity envelopes versus Amplify: change level in the intended scope
An amplitude envelope changes level over time, while a uniform amplification applies a gain choice to its selected scope. Choose according to the actual editorial requirement and inspect the complete phrase. Neither operation isolates a clean voice from a mixed soundtrack or restores information already lost through clipping.

Identify the level change the passage actually needs
Compare the unchanged recording at a fixed comfortable monitoring level. If a whole selected passage needs the same gain, that is different from a gradual fade or a local level move around a sentence. Keep the source and editable project so the accepted choice remains reversible and identifiable.
Check the selected contribution before changing it. Raising an already mixed voice-and-music track affects the mixture. A quieter speaker due to a wrong audio role or channel routing needs that diagnosis first. Playback volume is another layer and does not by itself alter the exported samples.
Use the native control and inspect its boundaries
Audacity's Envelope Tool controls track amplitude through points on an envelope. Choose it through the supported tools interface and shape the intended time-varying change around recognizable events. Inspect the actual points and transitions rather than assuming a steep-looking waveform represents the source's original dynamics.
Amplify is a different gain operation on selected audio. Review its intended amount and peak headroom, and preserve the chosen interval. Do not apply uniform gain simply to recreate a fade that needs time-varying control. Also inspect other enabled effects, because their order and export path can influence the resulting sound even when one envelope looks correct.
Verify the exported level curve and useful content
Listen from before the changed region through the following phrase and inspect quiet words, breaths and strong transients. A level transition can hide a consonant or introduce an unnatural change in background sound. Keep comparative listening volume stable so a louder version does not automatically seem clearer.
Open the saved derivative outside the project and check its duration, sound and picture synchronization where relevant. Record the purpose and operation and retain the source, rather than labelling a changed gain curve an unchanged original. SocialVidDownloader does not provide Audacity envelope editing or user-controlled audio mastering; its bounded video utilities remain separate from this authorized local soundtrack review.
Worked example
Example: a narrator needs a gentle entrance after a title, then ordinary level for the rest of the sentence. An envelope can represent that changing curve, whereas amplifying the whole sentence does not create the intended gradual entrance. Check the first syllable and final export before accepting the derivative.
