Track identifiers, stream order and program membership
A container identifier, an inspector’s stream index and a relative audio-track position can refer to different numbering systems. Identify which selector your workflow expects before choosing media. A second video stream may also be cover art or another presentation, not a better-quality version of the recording you wanted.

Inventory the recording and identify stream roles
Use a suitable local inspector to list stream types, codec information and relevant metadata. For a transport-stream task, a FFprobe report with -show_programs and -show_streams can expose the available program and component context. Keep the report associated with the actual retained recording rather than reusing an index from another file.
Inspect whether each visual resource represents motion, an attached image or another intended role. A static cover can be reported through a video-related representation without containing the complete movie. Do not pick a stream solely because its dimensions are largest or its position is first.
Map identifiers within the correct receiving interface
A Matroska track UID and the numeric order shown by another application are not interchangeable selectors. Copying or repackaging a movie can change observed stream order. Likewise, selecting an authorized transport-stream program differs from assuming every globally listed stream belongs to one coherent presentation.
Record the identifier type used by your exact tool, then select the wanted component and verify actual content. A displayed language or track name can be incomplete or inaccurate. Use known spoken material and recognizable pictures to confirm that your choice represents the intended recording rather than another participant or companion resource.
Verify the exported selection independently
Probe and play the completed output. Check a known passage, the ending and any required subtitle or alternate audio. If order changes during a handoff, remap from the new actual inventory rather than blindly reusing the earlier index or treating a numeric mismatch as proof of lost media.
The site’s normalized format/audio choices use the records associated with the current analysis session. They are not arbitrary native container UIDs or transport packet identifiers. The bounded Video Information summary is useful for ordinary stream content, but advanced program/identifier investigation belongs in a suitable local inspector.
Worked example
A local report lists a cover image before the motion-video stream, while a separate container tool shows a long track UID. Selecting the first listed visual entry or pasting that UID into an unrelated index field does not guarantee the desired movie. The sender identifies the motion and audio roles, maps the supported selectors and checks the actual export.
