DRM and access restrictions are not download-format problems
A public-looking URL does not guarantee that its media is available to this downloader. Login requirements, private permissions, regional restrictions, and DRM can prevent processing. Choosing another resolution or browser does not grant access. Use an authorized source or the platform's own permitted export options instead.

Distinguish visible pages from accessible media
A page may show a title or thumbnail while its playable media requires account authorization. You may also be signed in when viewing it locally. That browser experience does not prove that a public processing service receives the same access.
DRM involves controlled access to protected media, while a private post or deleted source may have a different restriction. A generic unavailable response does not prove which mechanism applies. Record the specific error and content type without asserting that every failed video is DRM-protected. Avoid treating missing formats as evidence of a hidden downloadable option.
Stay within the supported access model
SocialVidDownloader should process only what its current providers can genuinely retrieve. It does not promise private-account access, DRM removal, or password collection. Public availability also does not establish your rights to copy, republish, or redistribute someone else's recording.
For your own content, check the platform's official export or download features. Where permission is required, obtain it from the rights holder. An approved copy supplied by the owner can be more appropriate than trying to transform a restricted streaming URL. Keep source-access questions separate from codec or local-file compatibility questions.
Troubleshoot a supported link without bypass instructions
First confirm that the URL identifies the intended supported media type. A profile, collection, or unrelated page can fail because it is the wrong object, without involving protection. Use the relevant link guide to obtain the actual clip identifier.
If a valid source remains unavailable, read the provider response and stop at the stated limitation. Repeated retries, higher quality selection, or filename changes cannot manufacture authorization. Do not upload passwords or session cookies as a workaround. When seeking support, report the platform, content type, original public URL where appropriate, and failure stage. This allows a provider or link issue to be investigated while preserving a truthful boundary around inaccessible and protected media.
Worked example
Illustrative case: a title and thumbnail appear publicly, but playback requires a subscriber account. The public processing service cannot retrieve the media. That is an access boundary, not a reason to advertise a secret MP4 format or a private-content downloader.
