Burn an authorized subtitle resource into the intended recording

Burn subtitles into the exact video version for which their cue timings were prepared. A readable SRT file can still belong to an earlier edit. Compare dialogue, scene boundaries and the final cue before accepting a permanent text burn-in, because later subtitle selection cannot remove those encoded words.

Match the sidecar to the recording before rendering

Confirm the recording’s identity and duration, then inspect the SRT’s opening and last cues. A common title or similar filename is not enough to establish a match. Trimming an introduction, removing a pause, or combining clips changes the relationship between elapsed time and spoken words. Preserve both the clean recording and the original sidecar.

Distinguish a constant timing offset from an edit-dependent mismatch. If every cue is displaced by roughly the same amount, a sidecar correction may be appropriate in a subtitle editor. If cues diverge after particular cuts, shifting the whole file can repair one passage while damaging another. Review the edit-specific positions instead.

Use the supported burn-in workflow

Open Burn Subtitles Into Video. Upload the video first and its authorized SRT second; use the ordering controls if needed. Submit the job and wait for the actual result rather than treating upload completion as completed rendering. Save the output and play the file, not just a thumbnail or subtitle-editor preview.

This operation burns existing text. It does not transcribe speech, translate a caption language, or prove that every SRT cue is accurate. Other subtitle representations may need conversion in a suitable local application before using this SRT workflow. Any conversion still requires review for timing, wording and lost styling.

Verify the irreversible picture change

Check the beginning, a point after each major edit and the last spoken passage. Read long lines against both bright and dark scenes. Verify that cues disappear when intended and that the bottom of the picture remains legible. If the sidecar contains a speaker label or important non-speech sound, confirm that it remains understandable in the rendered view.

If the export is mistimed, return to the clean video and corrected sidecar instead of repeatedly burning another caption layer into the derivative. Retain a selectable subtitle delivery separately when the recipient needs to switch languages or disable text. A hardcoded caption is part of the picture and is not a replacement for every accessible caption workflow.

Worked example

A lecture is shortened by deleting a ten-second introduction. Burning the earlier SRT places each opening cue ten seconds late, even though the text parses correctly. The editor checks the shortened version, fixes the timing in a separate SRT, and renders again from the clean movie instead of adding a second visible caption layer.
