Two cloud-conflict movie versions: preserve both before choosing
A cloud-conflict copy and the file with the familiar name can contain different valid work. Preserve both until you establish their actual content and lineage. A newer modification time or conflict suffix does not prove which is the approved movie, and resolving a sync warning is separate from verifying the artifact a recipient should retain.

Freeze the comparison without overwriting either artifact
Identify the actual account, folder and two paths, keeping private details out of public reports. Wait for known writes or uploads to finish before comparing an artifact that may still be changing. Use distinct authorized receiving locations for both versions rather than dragging one onto the other and accepting a replacement prompt.
Record the visible sync state and any known editor or device that produced each version. A conflict suffix is a naming outcome, not a reliable production history. A local listing may still depend on remote bytes, so verify availability through the storage client’s supported workflow before calling either item an independent archive.
Verify both media versions and required companions
Open both completed versions in a compatible receiver. Compare recognizable first and last action, edited passages, duration and actual soundtrack. Check caption or project companions separately, because the preferred movie and the latest sidecar may not belong to the same revision.
For exact-byte comparison, calculate the same cryptographic checksum for both actual files. A match supports byte identity of those checked artifacts, while a difference establishes only that they differ. A legitimate re-encode or metadata update can change a whole-file digest without deciding which edit the collaborator approved.
Establish the intended revision from actual evidence
Use retained project notes, accepted exports or an authorized owner’s clarification to choose the required parent and delivery version. Identify whether a later timestamp reflects a copy, download or edit rather than the capture itself. Do not select a larger file as the master merely because its size is more impressive.
If the evidence remains ambiguous, keep both distinct and document that uncertainty. Use the service’s supported version-history workflow when an earlier accepted revision is needed, restoring or obtaining it without destroying the only current comparison copies. Storage retention and account scope vary; a displayed history list is not a universal promise that every previous movie can be recovered.
Resolve the naming and receiving task deliberately
After the decision, give the accepted artifact an unambiguous version identity and update project or manifest references through the supported workflow. Preserve any other valid work required by the retention plan. Resolving the sync conflict must not silently remove the context needed to explain which movie was selected and why.
Reopen the chosen receiving copy and verify its sound, duration and required companions. SocialVidDownloader does not manage cloud conflicts or determine an owner’s approved editing revision from a URL. Its output can be one input to this workflow, but temporary readiness is not cloud reconciliation. Leave ambiguous content unapproved rather than deleting a conflict file solely because it has an unfamiliar suffix.
Worked example
Example: the normally named movie contains an older soundtrack, while the conflict copy has the accepted narration and an older caption sidecar. The reviewer preserves both, identifies the approved media and supplies its matching captions instead of declaring the newest filename a complete accepted package.
