One video batch item failed: verify each result separately

A batch summary does not prove that every requested movie was successfully retained. Track each item’s actual source, settings and completed output independently. Preserve verified successful files, investigate the failed item’s specific stage, and retry only unresolved work when the evidence supports it instead of recreating the entire batch.

Create an item-level receiving record

Use the existing authorized source list rather than adding new targets during diagnosis. Associate each requested item with a stable source or local input identity and its intended output. Keep distinct versions, languages and clips separate even when their titles look similar. A number such as nine completed jobs is not enough to identify which requested recording is missing.

Record the observable stage for each item: input unavailable, analysis failed, upload incomplete, processing failed, ready file not saved or saved output rejected. Those stages have different remedies. A queued job and a file actually present in the receiving folder must not share the same completed label.

Preserve successful artifacts before retrying

Open each expected saved file and verify recognizable content, duration and required sound or captions according to the task. Keep the accepted copies and their source associations. An empty file, shortcut or HTML error page is not a successful movie simply because its name fits the batch naming scheme.

Do not overwrite an accepted output when repeating an unresolved item. Choose a distinct destination for a new attempt and compare versions after it finishes. If exact copying matters, compare the complete artifact with the identified reference using the same checksum algorithm; a newly encoded derivative needs its own verification record.

Investigate the specific failing stage

For a source-access failure, check the actual supported item and current authorized availability. For a local processing failure, inspect the application’s item-specific message and settings. Storage, unsupported media and source restrictions are different causes. Changing every item’s quality or language does not establish which cause applied to the failed one.

If a permitted retry is justified, run that unresolved operation once with current source evidence and supported settings. Keep a failed result marked failed until a real output passes inspection. Respect bounded processing and rate responses; launching parallel retries can consume resources without recovering content absent from the source.

Verify a complete batch without inventing a site feature

Reconcile the final item list with actual accepted outputs. Explain any deliberate omission or unavailable source rather than using the batch’s aggregate success message as a substitute for item-level checks. A recipient who needs all clips must know which required artifact is still absent before accepting the package.

SocialVidDownloader’s individual downloader and upload workflows have their actual supported inputs, statuses and temporary delivery windows. This guide does not introduce an automatic multi-URL batch downloader or guarantee indefinite job recovery. An external encoder queue likewise needs its own per-item evidence. Preserve completed work and leave unresolved items incomplete rather than repeatedly rerunning successful jobs or declaring a partial set complete.

Worked example

Example: seven expected files are listed in a batch folder, but one is an error-page response and another is the wrong language version. The reviewer keeps the five verified outputs, records two unresolved items and checks only those operations rather than reporting seven successful movie deliveries.
