Video page URL versus a temporary CDN media address
Use the individual supported source page to identify the video you are authorized to process. A CDN media address can identify a temporary delivery resource instead of the public item, and may contain access tokens. It is unsuitable as a general-purpose replacement for the source page or a durable archive reference.

Separate content identity from delivery identity
A source page usually supplies the platform item context: the intended post, clip or recording. A media delivery address can point to one encoding, segment or temporary resource used while presenting that item.
Those identifiers answer different questions. Two delivery addresses can belong to one source item, and one page can cause a player to retrieve several resources. A URL ending in a video-looking suffix does not establish that it is the complete recording or the correct content object.
Keep the public page identifier in permissioned notes when appropriate. It is more useful for revisiting the intended item than an opaque delivery address whose meaning depends on a past session.
Check lifetime and sensitivity before sharing
Some content delivery systems use signed addresses with an expiration policy. Amazon CloudFront documents this model as one example; it is not a claim that every social platform uses the same signing rules or lifetime.
Treat query parameters and opaque tokens as potentially sensitive. Do not paste them into public bug reports, screenshots or shared manifests. An expiring address can also stop working without the underlying public item being deleted.
When the source page remains accessible but an old media address fails, re-evaluate the supported source item through the tool. Do not attempt to forge signatures or extend permissions by editing token fields.
Use normalized provider detection as intended
Choose the relevant downloader and submit the accepted individual page form. The platform copy-link guides help distinguish a clip from a profile, feed or collection. Provider identification depends on that supported input contract.
SocialVidDownloader does not promise a general CDN-address downloader or acceptance of arbitrary media hosts. Replacing a rejected page with a delivery address from developer tools can remove context without creating support.
If the content requires private access or an unsupported workflow, ask the owner for a permitted local export. Do not supply account passwords, cookies or signed resource addresses to manufacture apparent success.
Verify the resulting file and record stable context
Check the completed local file's content and duration. Keep the selected source format and authorization context where your archive needs it. A correct-looking thumbnail alone does not verify the intended video.
If analysis fails, report the stage and sanitized public source form, with personal identifiers omitted when unnecessary. A current local session expiry and a source delivery expiry are different issues, so preserve the actual error wording.
For long-term retention, store the media you are permitted to keep rather than relying on a temporary delivery pointer. Keep archive records useful without retaining unnecessary access secrets.
Worked example
Example: a viewer's old signed media link fails, while the original supported video page is still public. That does not prove the recording was removed. Re-analyze the permitted source page through its platform tool and verify any completed file; do not copy the expired token into a public error report.
