FFmpeg neural denoising: retain the model and verify speech
FFmpeg’s arnndn audio filter needs an appropriate model resource as well as filter support in the installed build. A filter name in a command is not a complete reproducible handoff. Retain the permitted model identity and test its effect on representative speech before processing a longer soundtrack.

Check the installed filter and trusted model resource
Retain the authorized recording and inspect the selected audio stream. Use ffmpeg -h filter=arnndn to check the installed filter’s documented options. If the filter is unavailable, changing the output extension cannot supply it. Report the missing capability rather than describing an unprocessed file as a successful denoised result.
Obtain a compatible model through a trusted permitted workflow and record its source, version or checksum and usage terms. A model file is a processing dependency, not an alternate-language recording. Do not download arbitrary attachments merely because their names resemble a known model. Availability in one operator’s local folder does not prove that a recipient can legally or technically reproduce the processing.
Render a bounded test with an explicit model
For a compatible retained model, an illustrative command is ffmpeg -n -i source.wav -t 10 -map 0:a:0 -af "arnndn=m=retained-model.rnnn" -c:a pcm_s16le review-denoise.wav. The model path must actually exist and be readable by the installed filter. This selects ten seconds of the first audio stream and writes a new PCM derivative; select the intended stream and a suitable output representation for the real task.
Choose a test interval containing quiet words, breaths and noise, not only an easy loud sentence. Keep the source and processing notes together, and inspect the command result before accepting the file. If path syntax or model compatibility fails, diagnose that dependency instead of silently falling back to a different process and retaining the same success description.
Verify intelligibility and preserve reproducibility limits
Compare the saved derivative with the same source passage at similar levels. Listen for missing consonants, clipped beginnings, pumping and unnatural voice texture. A quieter pause is useful only if wanted speech remains understandable. Test a different representative interval before applying the settings throughout a recording with changing speakers or noise conditions.
Record the FFmpeg build, model identity, selected stream and accepted settings with the derivative. Keep required resources under their actual permission scope. A learned denoiser does not prove that its output reconstructs the original clean recording, and a model tuned for speech need not preserve music or every ambient event. SocialVidDownloader does not expose model-upload denoising or AI voice restoration as a supported utility. This is an external local procedure whose reproducibility and audible result must be established from the real installed filter and supplied model, not inferred from a neural-processing label.
Worked example
Example: a collaborator receives a denoising command but not the referenced model. The job fails before an accepted derivative exists. The operator supplies the permitted model identity, runs a short checked test and reports its audible result instead of claiming that any FFmpeg installation can reproduce the same cleaned voice.
