Matroska editions and linked segments: retain the presentation scope
Matroska chapters can provide navigation, while an ordered edition can describe a presentation assembled from selected intervals and potentially linked segments. One visible file or chapter list is therefore not always the full receiving scope. Identify the selected edition and any required external media before calling a retained file a complete presentation.

Identify the edition and the actual media relationship
Inspect the chapter and edition structure with an appropriate container tool and compare it with the player selection. Different editions can define different presentations rather than duplicate camera recordings. A chapter title alone does not establish a separate exported excerpt, and a default-edition choice is not a content-authenticity certificate.
Where chapter references depend on another segment, record the required segment identity and whether its authorized media is actually supplied. A reference or UUID is not the referenced movie's bytes. Keep the original set and source notes while reviewing it; substituting a similarly named file can change the intended content even if playback becomes possible.
Check the package before simplifying or moving it
For a receiving handoff, inventory the segment files and the edition the recipient needs. Preserve supported directory and resource relationships and document included versus unresolved dependencies. Do not assume ordinary single-file export retained linked-segment behavior just because it retained readable chapter titles.
If a flat viewing derivative is appropriate, create it through a tool that supports the actual presentation and inspect the chosen sequence. A flattened movie is a changed representation, not the same editable or linked structure. Keep the original package separately when the task requires later edition selection or independent source intervals.
Verify content across chapter and segment transitions
Play the selected edition and inspect the first interval, a linked transition and the ending. Check both sound and picture identity, not just total duration. A missing segment may change what plays or interrupt the presentation without indicating that every supplied segment file is individually corrupt.
Record the receiver and selected edition with the accepted handoff. If a dependency is absent, request the permitted resource or state that the presentation is incomplete rather than downloading an unrelated replacement. SocialVidDownloader does not assemble arbitrary Matroska linked presentations or reconstruct external segments from identifiers. A real prepared single-video file remains separate from this advanced container-package verification task.
Worked example
Example: an MKV's ordered edition refers to an interval in another supplied segment. Copying only the first file preserves some playable content but not necessarily the selected complete presentation. Inventory the permitted companion, verify the transition in the receiving player and label any flattened viewing copy as a derivative.
