Resume an interrupted transfer without mixing video results
Use the browser's supported resume action only for the original interrupted transfer when the resource is still available. Resumption depends on the browser and server behavior; it is not guaranteed. If a fresh analysis creates another result, treat it as a new transfer rather than splicing its bytes into an older partial file.

Identify the interrupted entry
Find the browser entry associated with the partial file and read its current status. A paused transfer, a failed result and a completed file that later will not play are different states.
Chrome documents resume controls and recovery for some download errors. That guidance does not promise that every server or expired resource can resume. Other browsers have their own documented behavior.
Preserve the original error and destination until you understand the next step. A familiar filename does not establish that a later result is byte-identical to the resource behind the interrupted entry.
Check the original resource and receiver conditions
Confirm adequate storage, destination access and a stable connection. If the browser offers Resume for the original entry, use that supported action and observe whether it continues, restarts or reports another failure.
HTTP ranges allow partial resource retrieval when supported, but a browser control's presence does not guarantee successful continuation. A temporary result can also become unavailable under its current lifetime.
Do not edit signed URLs or use account secrets to force access. The supported public workflow must remain within actual authorization and result availability.
Restart cleanly when a new result is required
If the original result cannot be resumed, re-analyze the authorized supported source when appropriate and start a new transfer. Keep its identity separate from the old partial file.
A new analysis can select or prepare a changed representation. Combining unrelated partial bytes can produce unusable media even when filenames or quality labels appear similar.
SocialVidDownloader does not provide a user-facing partial-file splicing tool or guarantee resumability for every provider output. Use the actual browser and result behavior instead of promising recovery of an expired partial artifact.
Verify completion before removing the partial copy
Wait for the browser's completion state, then open the resulting local file. Check duration and picture and sound at the beginning, middle and end. A playable opening does not establish a complete transfer.
Compare the intended source item and selected format. Do not accidentally retain an earlier partial duplicate because it has the simpler filename.
Only after verification should you remove an unusable duplicate you no longer need. Preserve sanitized error evidence if failures recur, and distinguish transfer resumption from codec or playback compatibility.
Worked example
Example: an interrupted transfer's temporary result has expired. Fresh analysis produces a new ready output. Save that as a new file and verify it fully; do not append it to the old partial artifact merely because both names end in .mp4.
