Move a video from iPhone Files to Mac
For a completed video stored in iPhone Files, select the actual file and use an appropriate supported sharing path to the Mac. AirDrop is one nearby-device option; Finder sharing depends on app support. Do not assume that a file in Files will appear through a Photos import or that a cloud listing proves local availability.

Verify the item in Files first
Locate the retained video in Files and confirm its location. If it is in a cloud-backed folder, ensure the needed content is available before beginning the handoff. A displayed name can represent a remote item.
Open the video and check that it is the intended completed result. A browser tab showing the source is not the same object, and sharing that tab can send a link instead of the media file.
Keep the distinction between Files and Photos. An arbitrary file downloaded into Files is not automatically a Photos-library item available through a camera-media import workflow.
Use AirDrop for a supported nearby handoff
Apple documents AirDrop for sharing files with nearby Apple devices. Select the actual Files item, use its share control and choose the intended recipient when the devices are appropriately configured.
Verify the recipient identity before sending. Use the receiving Mac's applicable controls and check where the file arrives rather than assuming every app routes it identically.
If the recipient is not discoverable, follow Apple's current AirDrop guidance. Do not broaden access settings permanently or send unrelated private files as a connection test.
Understand Finder and storage alternatives
Apple's Finder-sharing documentation limits that workflow to apps that support file sharing. It is not a promise that Finder exposes every Files location like a general external drive.
A supported cloud or storage handoff can be another route, but verify account access and full upload/download completion. Preserve the actual file rather than a shortcut to a remote preview.
Choose a method appropriate to the file's location and receiving task. SocialVidDownloader does not provide an iPhone-to-Mac sync service or automatically import downloaded files into Photos.
Check the Mac copy before removing the phone item
Open the received file on the Mac and confirm picture, duration and sound. If the intended task is editing, test import in that editor rather than relying only on a preview.
Keep the iPhone copy until the recipient copy meets the task. Compare file details and use a checksum workflow if unchanged bytes are a requirement.
Record any external derivative or sharing transformation separately. A successful share animation does not certify the selected audio stream, codec support or completeness of every later project.
Worked example
Example: a retained MP4 is in iPhone Files, not Photos. Select that Files item and share it through a supported AirDrop handoff to the intended Mac. Open the received file and verify its content before deleting the phone copy; a camera-library import is a different workflow.
