Android USB video transfer: check mode and access
A phone charging over USB does not establish a working file-transfer connection. Unlock the Android device, use a data-capable connection and select the supported file-transfer mode described for the device and computer. Locate the actual completed video before copying it, then verify the computer's received file.

Check the connection before searching for media
Google's Android instructions start with an unlocked device and a USB connection, then describe choosing File transfer under the USB-use control. Manufacturer wording and available options can vary.
A charging-only cable or unsuitable port can supply power without exposing files. Test a known data-capable cable and supported connection when the device does not appear. Do not enable debugging merely to copy an ordinary retained video.
Keep the computer's compatibility in view. Google's instructions describe particular supported workflows; do not assume that every operating system presents Android storage through the same file manager.
Choose the correct mode and permitted storage
Use the device's current USB notification or connection settings to choose file transfer when that workflow is supported. A photo-only mode can expose a different subset than a general file-transfer mode.
Navigate to the folder that actually contains the downloaded video. A browser's chosen destination may differ from a camera folder, and the retained file may not be a Photos or Gallery capture.
Do not attempt to access another app's protected account data or change system access controls to find credentials. The task is copying a user-accessible permitted media file.
Diagnose recognition separately from a missing file
If the device is absent, investigate cable, port, unlock state and the computer's documented support. If the device appears but the video is absent, verify the phone destination and selected mode.
Check that the file exists and opens on the phone before blaming the USB connection. A failed browser download cannot be transferred into a complete recording by changing USB mode.
Preserve the actual error wording. Avoid random driver packages or broad permission changes; use the device and operating-system vendors' maintained guidance for recognition issues.
Verify the copied file before disconnecting and deleting
Copy into a deliberate computer folder and wait for the operation to complete. Open the received recording and compare duration, picture and intended sound with the phone copy.
Use the operating system's appropriate disconnect procedure once the transfer is finished. Keep the source until the recipient task is verified, especially when the computer will import it into an editor.
SocialVidDownloader does not implement USB device access or custom phone transfers. This is a post-download handoff using supported device controls, with the same permission limits as the original retained file.
Worked example
Example: an Android phone charges but does not appear for file browsing. Use a known data-capable cable, unlock the phone and check its documented File transfer mode. Only after recognition succeeds should you locate the completed download and copy it; USB troubleshooting cannot fix an incomplete source file.
